Personal Revelation

After the initial shock about the revelations of my past wore off, the producers knew that we had to tell this story of the entire phenomenon... not just about what I had experienced.  And this is where we pick up in Huntsville, AL.

I had not told very many people outside of a few close friends and family about my alien encounters. I had kept that very quiet most of my life mostly because that kind of talk was very much suppressed when I was a child. My parents were doing what they thought was best for me and shut down alien talk when they realized how serious I was about it.

There was ridicule to the point where I realized that NO ONE BELIEVED ME and therefore, why should I continue talking about it? They couldn’t help me. They couldn’t make it stop. The only thing to do was suppress it all.

I know that I probably seemed so normal on the outside. I was a “happy child” and did not seem to suffer many ill effects of these encounters when I was little but, that was not really the truth. Trauma can produce a kind of compartmentalization in many people to the point where they can function “normally” regardless to the extreme happenings going on at night. This usually works until they are triggered. This is what PTSD looks like. That was me.

Every now and then as a child, things came through. Long after I had started talking, I started to stutter and this lasted for a few years. I had a quick and violent temper. I had terrible nightmares. From my Jr. to Sr. year in high school, I had a period of mysterious nose bleeds which some ufologists and researchers attribute to “alien surgery.” But, in everything that I was feeling and experiencing, another completely prosaic explanation could have been found thus eliminating anything I might have said about my encounters. It MUST be all made-up nonsense, right? ...Right?

The Giggle Factor was in full operation when I was younger and why would I want to risk exposure? I was very selective in who I told. There was this long shadow of knowing that I was going to need to make a decision about whether or not I was going to “come out” as an “experiencer” in the documentary or not. I had received a good amount of healing so it shouldn’t bother me at all, right?

Or not...It was a chance encounter at the conference in Huntsville that shook me to my core and in one sentence reopened some very old doors.
